The Airbus A310 is a variant of the Airbus A300, the first twin-engined widebody airliner. Released in 1983, the A310 was the second twin-engined, wide-bodied aircraft to enter production by Airbus Industrie.
The first flight was on April 3, 1982.
The A310 is available in two basic versions, the medium range −200 and the longer range −300. The first version of the aircraft to be developed was the −200, later joined by the −300 (the standard production model). Fuselage length was 153' 1" for both models.
A total of 255 A310 airliners were built between 1983 and 1998. The A310 was eventually replaced in Airbus' offerings by the A330-200.
The A300 has a longer fuselage compared to the smaller A310. When looking at the A310 from the side (see image below), note that it has only two doors; the A300 has three doors on each side. |
